This global company is a leading provider of professional technical and management support services across a broad range of energy, environmental, transport and facilities sector clients.

In the new position of Commercial Counsel you will advise and assist with negotiations on contractual, legal and commercial matters for the company’s large and highly successful Queensland operations, based in Brisbane. Specific responsibilities include:

• extensive liaison with internal clients across the diverse range of business operations;
• providing legal and commercial advice on tenders, proposals and submissions; assessment of contractual and commercial risk;
• negotiating and reviewing commercial legal documents with external clients and vendors;
• assisting with disputes and claims management; and regulatory and quality compliance.

The successful candidate will have 3+ years’ PAE, ideally gained within the corporate/commercial, construction, or E&R team of a highly reputable private practice firm; or within a similar in-house environment.

Familiarity with financial/commercial issues and drivers will be highly regarded as will some experience in litigation (though not essential).

You are commercially savvy, with a strategic outlook, pragmatic style and solutions focus. Your excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills will also allow you to work well across the multi-disciplinary and jurisdictional internal and external client base.
